A Toolkit for Gender Affirming Mental Health Care

This live, knowledge-based virtual training will provide an introduction to conducting state-of-the-science gender affirming mental health care for our Veterans and Active-duty members who identify as transgender and nonbinary. The training is intended to assist health care teams with creating gender affirming environments within their clinics, command leadership team, and communities. Participants will leave with awareness of their own unconscious biases with regard to cultural aspects of gender to inform best mental health care practices. They will engage in active case presentations to apply clinical best practices as related to gender affirming mental health care. Participants will practice concepts intended to enhancing resiliency within members who identify as transgender or nonbinary.
