Overview
PSIMED INC is seeking a Medical Assistant/Receptionist who can perform various office and clinical duties to keep our outpatient mental health office running efficiently. The ideal candidate should be energetic, friendly, and organized. You will work directly with our providers as a team member with a strong work ethic who is passionate about providing excellent customer service.
General Medical Assistant Responsibilities
Assisting physician with clinical procedures
Obtaining patient vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
Administering injections
Performing Genesight Testing
Screening of drug tests
Job Requirements
Gathers the appropriate information from the patient to guarantee the patient is registered appropriately, consents obtained, and data entered in the computer is accurate
Greeting patients
Answering the phone
Scheduling new patients
Confirming appointments via phone call/text reminders
Checking in/out patients
Collecting co-payments and balances
Verifying insurance and obtaining mental health benefits
Returning phone calls in a timely manner and relaying important messages to providers
Responsible for a variety of financial duties including balancing the daily record sheets
Ensuring HIPAA security and confidentiality of all medical records
Other office duties including filing, scanning, faxing, and general cleaning
Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant program
Strong work skills with the ability to work independently or with a team
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capable of handling multiple tasks
Strong computer skills, be able to use basic office equipment, and handle multiple phone lines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel)
EMR experience preferred

Requirements

High School diploma required. Completion of a medical assisting program or higher college degree. Associate’s degree in medical assisting and/or certification preferred. License: Registered or Certified Medical Assistant in the State of West Virginia. Experience: 1 year of Medical Office background preferred and experience in a behavioral health setting is a plus
