About the event

The purpose of this live, knowledge-based webinar is to help clinicians understand the impact of stigma in clinical environments and general culture; how it might jeopardize patient care; and how to best address stigma in clinical settings. It will also discuss the causes and effects of stigma, as well as discriminatory behaviors in addiction treatment.

Currently, most clinicians are now unaware of how they can contribute to the perpetuation of stigma in therapeutic settings. Clinicians need to be educated about the roots of stigma and the intricacies of its impacts, as well as getting training on how to best fight stigma to improve patient access, engagement, and quality care. The purpose of this live, knowledge-based webinar is to help clinicians and other members of the healthcare team understand the impact of stigma in clinical environments and general culture, how it might jeopardize patient care, and how to best address stigma in clinical settings. It will discuss the causes and effects of stigma, as well as discriminatory behaviors in addiction treatment. It will provide information and training on three different approaches to overcoming stigma
