Community Homelessness Assessment Local Engagement

Participants will be asked to complete a CHALENG survey during the event. These must be completed to receive CEU credit. The surveys are a critical factor in assessing local challenges faced by homeless Veterans, identifying unmet needs and encouraging partnership action to meet those needs. Data from CHALENG surveys has assisted VA in developing new services for Veterans, including the Homeless Veteran Dental Program, the expansion of the Department of Housing and Urban Development-VA Supportive Housing program, the Veterans Justice Outreach programs and the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.

The internet address to complete the CHALENG survey during the training is https://www.va.gov/homeless/chaleng.asp A snapshot will need to be taken of the survey completion. If there are technical difficulties with completing this, direct assistance can be provided by the organizer of this event.

In addition, surveys will be completed at the end of the event to identify what went well and what may need improvement. Both of these tasks will need to be done before receiving CEU's.
