Dr. Richard Mullin
Dr Richard Mullin is a Wheeling, WV native. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and went on to graduate from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. He then spent 5 years in training at the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry Following the completion of his residency and fellowship, Dr Mullin joined PSIMED staff in 2012 as the Medical Director for the WV Division of Juvenile Services, providing psychiatric services to troubled youth throughout the state. He is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. In his private practice, Dr Mullin specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, behavioral concerns, substance abuse and self-harming behaviors.
Marina Smith is a native of West Los Angeles, later growing up in Indiana. She received her undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision with a minor in Computer Technology from Purdue University. After some time in the business world, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She worked for 5 years as a traumatic brain injury nurse at one of the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country, earning praise and recognition for her dedication to her patients.
Marina furthered her education and became a nurse practitioner. She has practiced in adult and family medicine for the past year right here in Morgantown. While working in general medicine, she had an opportunity to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds, and a significant portion of her clientele was treated for various psychiatric and emotional conditions, like depression, anxiety, and others. Additionally, Marina is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is comfortable providing services in either language.
Melissa Albert, MD
Dr. Melissa Albert is board certified in Psychiatry and Pediatrics and has provided psychiatric care for over 10 years. She hails from Clarksburg, WV, a graduate of West Virginia University both undergraduate and School of Medicine. During her undergraduate years served on the student Board of Governors. She completed residency training in Pediatrics at Wright State University and received awards in teaching. She completed residency training in Psychiatry at West Virginia University and served as chief resident. Upon completion of residency training became a staff attending at West Virginia University serving as the consulting psychiatrist for the Children’s Hospital for nearly five years. Most recently she comes from an outpatient clinic serving the rural population of southwestern Pennsylvania. She is excited to provide Pediatric Psychiatric care to the Kanawha Valley.
Shelly Cardi, PhD
Dr Shelly Cardi, PhD is a native West Virginian, who received her BA in Psychology from West Virginia University, MA in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City, and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She completed her internship at WVU’s Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services. Dr Cardi joined PsiMed in 2017.
As a licensed psychologist, Dr Cardi has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with a variety of concerns. Her goal is to accept you where you are and create an open, collaborative relationship in which you feel respected, secure, and able to consider new perspectives. Her conversation style is warm and gentle, while also honest and direct. Dr Cardi uses a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to help people gain insight, explore and express their feelings, heal from traumatic experiences, and regain emotional balance. Therapy may also help you to pursue meaningful life goals, improve communication and coping skills, build self-esteem, and increase relationship satisfaction. Her special interests include Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, grief, trauma, unresolved emotional pain, and relationship problems. Dr Cardi also provides psychological testing children, adolescents, and adults for a range of issues including ADHD and learning disabilities. She also has expertise in ADHD coaching and academic counseling for students of all ages. Consulting services and presentations or group workshops on a variety of topics are also available upon request.
Andraa Rosenberger graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2005 and a Master of Social Work degree in 2009. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her professional interests include work with children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and autism spectrum disorders. Andraa also focuses on issues associated with anger control, stress management, grief/loss, relationship problems, self-esteem, academic/career counseling, and living with a chronic illness or pain. Treatment approaches she utilizes includes trauma-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, brief solution focused, play therapy, and family systems.
Andraa has experience working in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. She has worked for PSIMED Corrections since 2009 where she was a Clinical Therapist at the WV Industrial Home for Youth, Marion County Youth Reporting Center, and at Monongalia County Juvenile Drug Court. Prior to joining PSIMED, Andraa did her graduate internship at WVU Medicine/Chestnut Ridge Center as a Clinical Therapist focusing on the adolescent residential and acute units. After obtaining her Psychology degree, she worked at the Youth Academy for a period of three years, which is a therapeutic residential treatment program for male and female adolescents, as a Community Treatment Coordinator, Case Manager, and Teacher/Counselor.
