Bob Musick, LCSW, MSW
Bob Musick, LCSW, MSW graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree of Social Work. Bob is a Licensed Social Worker with an extensive background in Suicide Prevention. Bob has 46 years of experience in many areas of Behavioral Health and as CEO of West Virginia’s Council for the Prevention of Suicide. Bob has directed many different programs while working with Valley Comprehensive Mental Health Center including counseling, crisis services, work with police departments, jail counseling, and teaching a class at the West Virginia State Police Academy.
Bob has also been an Adjunct Clinical Instructor with WVU School of Social Work for many years teaching a number of different courses.
Bob is currently the Chair of The State Advisory Group with the Division of Juvenile Community Services in Charleston.
Bob is currently the Director of PSIMED’s Morgantown Office.
Dr. Richard Mullin
Dr Richard Mullin is a Wheeling, WV native. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and went on to graduate from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. He then spent 5 years in training at the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry Following the completion of his residency and fellowship, Dr Mullin joined PSIMED staff in 2012 as the Medical Director for the WV Division of Juvenile Services, providing psychiatric services to troubled youth throughout the state. He is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. In his private practice, Dr Mullin specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, behavioral concerns, substance abuse and self-harming behaviors.
Shelly Cardi, PhD
Dr Shelly Cardi, PhD is a native West Virginian, who received her BA in Psychology from West Virginia University, MA in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City, and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She completed her internship at WVU’s Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services. Dr. Cardi joined PSIMED in 2017.
As a licensed psychologist, Dr Cardi has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with a variety of concerns. Her goal is to accept you where you are and create an open, collaborative relationship in which you feel respected, secure, and able to consider new perspectives. Her conversation style is warm and gentle, while also honest and direct. Dr Cardi uses a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to help people gain insight, explore and express their feelings, heal from traumatic experiences, and regain emotional balance. Therapy may also help you to pursue meaningful life goals, improve communication and coping skills, build self-esteem, and increase relationship satisfaction. Her special interests include Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, grief, trauma, with unresolved emotional pain, and relationship problems. Dr Cardi also provides psychological testing children, adolescents, and adults for a range of issues including ADHD and learning disabilities. She also has expertise in ADHD coaching and academic counseling for students of all ages. Consulting services and presentations or group workshops on a variety of topics are also available upon request.
Patrick Whaley, MA, MPA, MAC, CCSOTS
My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University in 2004. I completed a Master’s Thesis/Dissertation on the Impact of ADHD on Family Functioning. My thesis proved the negative impact of ADHD on families and how it can create family stressors. I also have a Master of Public Administration with specialization in Health Care Administration from West Virginia University in 2010. I have a BS in Psychology from Fairmont State University. I am a Provisionally Licensed Counselor in the state of West Virginia. I am a professional member of the National Association of Forensic Counselor’s. I am clinically certified to treat Sex Offender’s, additionally, I am certified as a Master’s Addiction Counselor. My interests include helping clients, who include children, adults, and families so as to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, and whole. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual. I am trained in a broad range of modalities including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. Before joining PSIMED in May of 2018, I was the Assessment Specialist at Elkins Mountain School. I conducted intake assessments and I provided individual counseling. Currently at PSIMED, I provide individual and group counseling as well as providing individual and group therapy services to the Juvenile Drug Court of Monongalia County.
John K. Spraggins, MSW, LCSW
John graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work in 1975 and a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1977. He is a Licensed Certified Social Worker. His professional interest include work with adolescents, adults, and couples. He specializes in treating substance abuse disorders, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. John is a generalist practitioner, and draws from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual. As a therapist, he is warm, open, encouraging, combining experiences, education, and a sense of humor with a down to earth approach to counseling.
Mr. Spraggins over 41 years of experience as a Social Worker. Prior to joining PSIMED Inc in 2017, he served over 21 years as a Senior Program Administrator/Counselor at the Carruth Center at West Virginia University. He has worked in a variety of settings over the years providing counseling services: inpatient programs; in Employee Assistance; outpatient services; volunteer and board member of Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center; school social worker; currently co-facilitator of a support group at Suncrest United Methodist Church.
